Upgrades can sometimes increase the performance of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random enhancements applied.

Reroll Tokens

There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare, and legendary. Growthstones

In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve armor, weapons and other items. These are special stones that can increase the level of an item by increasing its stats and abilities. Players can find these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the main towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. Moreover, players can obtain these stones by signing daily contracts.

To upgrade equipment players must first locate the item, then click the "level up button". The menu will appear that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being upgraded, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to do so. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade the gear will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor requires only one Growth Stone.

Once they have decided on the upgrade, players must select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to utilize and pay the appropriate cost. When the requirements are fulfilled, the player may select the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. The item will be upgraded in level by a specific percentage. The process of upgrading can last anywhere from seconds to several minutes, depending on the rarity of the item.

The upgrade process is completely risk-free and does not affect the durability of the item. This makes it an ideal way for players to get an advantage in combat without straining their bank account. Furthermore players can transfer experience and advancement of an upgraded item to new gear by clicking on the "transfer" tab.

The process of obtaining Growth Stones in Throne and Liberty can be a challenge for novice players. There are a variety of ways to obtain these stones, such as contract completion and purchasing them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, obtaining them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.

Leveling

Leveling is an option that lets players increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms and trinkets. It's done by combining an item with upgrade components at the Upgrade Station and paying a cost of Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade components will be used up and the item will be upgraded to an upgraded level. The process will continue until the item reaches its maximum level.

Items with upgraded base stats display a blue icon in their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, cannot be applied to more than one item at once. Furthermore, each upgrade component will require a specific amount of items to be applied, as well as an initial amount for the equipment.

The Upgrade Station has two slots: the first is where players can put in equipment that needs that they wish to upgrade, and the right slot shows a preview of what the gear will look like once it is at its next level. Once the player has enough items by pressing the yellow arrow, it will initiate the upgrade process.

A piece of gear can be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its stats will increase by a small amount. The highest level for an item is 19.

Item upgrade components can be slotted into equipment set pieces or weapons to provide additional effects or to increase the level of the item. These upgrades can come from many sources, including crafting, buying from the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting during bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component is placed in an item it isn't able to be removed or changed without restriction, however, the glyphs that are used in gathering tools can be swapped out without limitation.

Upgrading an item can increase its Mark Level and/or Rarity. Some upgrade components also have additional modifiers that can improve the item's statistics.

For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" improves base defense, and also adds an extra 20% chance to block. In addition the dps upgrade "Wildfire" increases damage to weapons.

Upgrades can be beneficial for certain items, but they are not because they increase stats. They are more valuable for the players when they achieve an exact roll. For instance, a flawlessly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly valued in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50 times the value of the unupp'd version.

The game will display the requirements once you choose the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. The game will show the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.

The game will place an item in your inventory when you have completed the prerequisites for an upgrade. The progress bar will then update to show how close you are to getting the upgrade completed. You can also check on the status of an item upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
