best robot cleaner vacuums and mops are getting more powerful. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and are able to handle various floors. Look for models that allow you to select from multiple modes, use their charging dock to self-empty and clean the stairs.

A lot of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Find an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and alter the S1's behaviour.

When I tested the S1, it was able to identify the downstairs area, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross thresholds that are raised without issue. However it was a bit difficult navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving effortlessly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.

After every mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and refills its water tank onboard with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary dependent on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working well. For this, you'll need to wash the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting clogged by dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is a powerful solution for cleaning. Its robot vacuum boasts 8700Pa of suction and comes with a number of unique features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it, rather than just drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station as needed.

This robot has an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It also includes a hand vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are two water tanks that are automatically emptied or filled. It also has a number of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good robot vacuum vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction which can easily pick up dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can be stuck on small mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also excellent with a pair of spinning mop heads that can lift and scrub the floor, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the basestation whenever needed. The mops can also be refilled at the top of the station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-free maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush ensure a thorough, custom-designed clean.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing large and fine particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our test's most soiled areas efficiently, while avoiding tangled pet hairs and other dirt. The sweeping capabilities are augmented by an additional side brush that automatically moves out to tackle difficult-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.

Its navigation system is nimble, navigating tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without stepping back. It can go from one room to the next without needing to reverse the direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than other models however, and tends to leave a wide margin around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.

The interface of the app is easy to use and streamlined. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop settings and view 3-D and 2D maps. It can be operated through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to keep an eye on its progress from any location. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for real-time video supervision. You'll require a reliable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 pro

A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of picking up debris and dirt, but it can't always be able to reach every bit of dust. That's why it's important to use your regular vacuum once every week, and especially to remove dust from corners, on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop designed to accomplish exactly that. It's simple to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and works with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more convenient addition to your routine of cleaning.

The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, including the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on cost by eliminating mopping functions and using a lower-cost plastic body.

The Q5 remains one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping machines we've seen at this price even though it's not able to clean your floor. It has a powerful suction of 5500Pa, and an automatic empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleaning and choose the floor type. It also comes with an automatic water tank filling system and washing system for hands-free operation.

Its mops also impress with its 2700Pa power to combat pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't show any issues with high-pile carpets or area rug, but it was unable to pick up kitty litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums cannot. This device also collects dust in a bigger dustbin that means you have to empty it less often. It also has washable filters which further reduces the costs associated with using the device. The robot hoover and mop is also able to detect carpets and boost the suction when needed. The app also allows you to mark off areas you want to stay clear of this is a useful feature.
