However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we evaluated, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including getting rid of any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot automatic vacuum cleaners.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self cleaning vacuum-emptying garbage bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.
