Boosters

With an item upgrader you will be able to enjoy many bonuses. They can include stats and bonus bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons, and trinkets. They can be used to boost the abilities of a character or add a new element of variety to their character.

This system first came into play in Mists of Pandaria, and continued with Warlords of Draenor. It is a convenient method to boost the level of your equipment, allowing you bypass the monotonous grind of completing quests and avoid many wipes in Mythicand dungeons.

When an item is upgraded its type of base changes. The upgrade of a normal item will result in an item that is Exceptional while upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an elite version of the base item. The item will be able to keep the same stats it had prior to upgrading however it will also get an additional bonus due to its new base type. This bonus is randomly selected. It could be a weapon with a greater damage range, an improved speed of reloading, or an increased max defense roll.

The amount of extras gained by upgrading is contingent on the amount of upgrades done. Each upgrade will boost the extras in question by a factor of one, up to a maximum of three. Each upgrade will also increase the stats of the main game by +1.

In addition to the stat increase certain upgrades can also provide a random boost. These boosts can be quite useful and should be taken into consideration when deciding what items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only beneficial in certain builds (such as Whistan's shield in FB sorcs) while others can provide an enormous amount of value to certain collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos which is less useful when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap provides extra potion slot. These are often upgraded to add more value to a near-perfect or perfect item.

Costs

There are a few costs associated with item upgrades. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gains and is often expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The other is the cost of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and over) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these materials required is available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take up to 8 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important stats. In some instances, the upgrade will grant additional advantages that can be picked from a variety of perks.

In rare instances the upgrade will only replace the most expensive bonuses. The upgrader may also make other adjustments to the item, like changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon, or adding or removing a operative or unwieldy feature. These modifications are based on an item level upgrade's ilvl and may require special materials, such as the adamantine.

Success Rate

Item upgrades are based on a chance, and like every random system, there's the possibility that the upgrade will fail. There are a number of ways to increase your chances of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or adding additional components to your upgrade.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional elements to the upgrade, thereby increasing its chances of success. These are displayed in a separate window, above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

Another way to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is by using an item known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is beneficial if you have an Best item upgrader of gear that has reached the highest level for its tier or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without having to worry about breaking.

If an upgrade fails the upgrade will be reversed to its initial state. This is typically a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. Save an upgrade until you are nearing the highest level for an item.

Kafra has a range of products that can be utilized to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. For instance upgrading an item of equipment with HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will provide you with more chance of success. In the same way, increasing the likelihood to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will improve the chances of success.

Failure Rate

It is important to remember that not all items are upgradeable. The rank of an item determines the rate at which it can be upgraded and transformed. The higher the rank of an item, the more Zeny and items will be needed to upgrade it.

This system is expensive particularly if you are looking for high-level gear. Upgrades to armor and weapons can cost up to 100,000 Z or 100 Carnium. The rate of success decreases as you go up in rank. However, you can use cash shop items to increase your chances of upgrading your item efficiently.
