Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've always wanted to purchase a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart robot mapping with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its biggest innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't clean in areas you don't would like. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.
The design is also more appealing than the other models. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles an toy, not a loud and obnoxious robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as sophisticated as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. This type of robot typically comes with a built-in tank for water which means they can mop and remote vacuum cleaner your home simultaneously. These bots also come with a variety of extra features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area which many robot vacuums can really fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little misses in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and adjust your home map, or re-label the rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also features a large LCD display that is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for most people however it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are some of the best on the market however it's expensive.
It's a small base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac I've tried that does well at picking up the dust from floors with no. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a robot vacuum that does it all.
However, if you're looking to save some money or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine there are many other great choices on the market with a wide range of eufy models that cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper, but offers more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors, low-pile carpets and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted floors, as well as a mopping function at an affordable price. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be placed close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious compared to some rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three physical buttons for auto vacuum cleaner Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way that the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable items in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.
The elegant G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and it's less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
