Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

You'll need a double stroller in order to take your twins from one place to B. Our range includes a range of twin prams as well as double buggies in various configurations to meet your family's requirements.

Find a foldable stroller that can be folded in one step and easily lifted into your car. You may also prefer a lightweight design, especially when you're on busy high streets.

Side-by-Side

They are the most popular type of double pushchair newborn that can typically seat 2 children in a row. They tend to be a bit wider than single pushchairs, which means they are less agile on footpaths and can be a little tricky to navigate between the kerbs with a car attached. However, the extra width can mean that they're often a lot more comfortable to maneuver through doorways and are distributed more evenly making them less burdensome to carry around on your back.

Many models can be used from birth as twin prams pushchairs prams, and can take a carrycot, or two car seats. Some can even be converted to one-mode with an additional basket (like the Cybex Venus).

The Bugaboo Donkey 5 is a perfect example of this. In Twin Mode, you can fit the rear seat alongside a carrycot. This creates a totally enclosed space for twins, Pram Pushchair and is perfect for babies. This pram comes with some really cool accessories, including the newborn cocoons that can be attached either facing forwards or in any direction (for twin-facing prams). It's not as light as some other options, but it's extremely well-thought out.

Lightweight

Cybex is known for its nifty pushchairs and the single-to double is no exception. The frame can be enlarged to accommodate another seat. You can use the pushchair as a twin from birth by putting in two newborn cocoons that cost PS59 each. These cocoons create lie-flat areas that are enclosed. The large shopping basket that is behind the seat lets it be used in mono mode for a single child. It has both front and rear suspensions which means it can take on bumps and uneven surfaces better. Our reviewers chose this car as their top choice.

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins you will require a tandem pushchair. This will allow the children to sit together and look at each other. They are ideal for activities such as visiting the zoo because the kids will be able to gaze at all the animals together. They are also great for parents who have to keep an eye on their toddler and the other on their baby because they can see both at the same time.

Some tandem pushchairs offer ultra versatility as they can change back to single mode. This is particularly useful when you are planning to have more children than two (or in the event that your child who is the oldest doesn't require an extra buggy). This will prevent you from having to store a buggy empty which can be expensive.

The Cybex Venus, for example, can be used either in double or mono mode. The frame can be expanded to allow for an additional seat. This isn't the lightest of pushchairs, but it offers a large shopping basket that sits behind the front seat in double mode (and in the back of the seat in mono mode). The seats can be placed to face each other, or one can be set higher up so it can be able to look over the other and see what they're up to.

Other double tandem pushchairs like the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other or side-by-side. The sleek, compact frame makes it easier to maneuver through doorways and supermarket aisles. Some models can be used on uneven terrain or as a jogging walk thanks to their wide rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.

A tandem running pushchair could also be used to transport two carrycots, or a car and buggy seat. This allows you to build a travel system from the outset and save money on additional purchases. It's worth remembering, however, that tandems can be heavier and longer than single pushchairs and can feel less stable bumping up kerbs or going over uneven surfaces. These pushchairs also need to be dismantled to fit in cars.
