The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the best inexpensive robot vacuum to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model is a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice addition.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often is power-depleted before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
