Are You Getting The Most Of Your Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item upgrade at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies even if the items are from another set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available after certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item upgrades that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item Level upgrade (sciencewiki.science) level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type or gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
