However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. In our tests, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.
