The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can automatic vacuum cleaner and mop carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help draw out dirt from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective however, this is something that you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.

The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more random patterns. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can traverse your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that is equipped with microfiber pads. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise map of your floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that indicated when it was beginning or completing its task.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to contain multiple maps, which can be a problem if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuums that mop vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.

Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
