World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade item track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can look at the level of an item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's able to deal. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to view the item level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its value. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the Best item upgrader.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item upgrading are a major part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase the stats of an item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.

Another way to change the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to enhance. Similar to base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Additionally, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
