World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved after a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves an item level upgrade the original item will be replaced by a new item upgrade. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item level upgrade more expensive, even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since the Best item upgrader version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item upgrader mod is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item upgrader mod is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
