5 Item Upgrade Lessons From The Professionals
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can increase the power of a piece and, sometimes, even add extras. The value of these upgrade is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.
For instance, the premium shield for racial discrimination Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb ability in PvP or to provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens permit you to buy a new item, like an armor, weapon or ring. The item is replaced by an identical item, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective option to upgrade equipment. However, they don't retain the level of the original item and any resources wasted aren't refunded.
The surviving players can acquire tokens to reroll in many ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. You can also find them in chests and crates or purchase them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter the attributes of a piece equipment, for example increasing its damage.
Players can reroll their equipment using three attributes: physical power, magic power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase the damage of melee and weapons attack while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and ring. Health upgrades provide the player with an extra health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a higher-quality, with the requirement of an upgraded reroll token in order to produce it. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require items that are either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The reroll marker, unlike other special tokens or markers placed on action spaces stays on the spot until the next success is being rerolled. This allows you to prevent the waste of upgrades.
Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and are opened by grabbing them with Interact. When they are opened, they will display an image and description of the Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's store for the amount of coins.
During a run, blueprints can be transferred between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool as a result of selected Franchise Cards. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop offers for rerolls and those that are located in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones that increase an item's level by increasing its stats and attributes. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. These stones can also be purchased by players who have completed daily contracts.
To upgrade gear, the player must first locate the item then click the "level up button". The menu will be displayed showing the item's current level and what it will be when being leveled up and the required amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade the gear will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires one Growth Stone.
After choosing the item to upgrade the user must choose the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay the cost. Once the requirements are fulfilled, the player may then click on the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level a certain percentage. The upgrade process can last between a few seconds and minutes, based on the rarity of the item upgrader kit.
The upgrade process is safe and doesn't impact the longevity of the item. The system is a great way for players who want to get an edge in combat but don't want to spend a lot of money. Clicking on the "transfer tab", players can also transfer the experience and progression of an upgraded piece of gear onto an entirely new piece of equipment.
For new players, it can be difficult to acquire Growth Stones. There are several ways to acquire the stones. You can sign contracts and purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants, defeat Abyssal Contracts, obtain them from Equipment Stone Seal Book or find them in reward chests during the Ancient Arena Season. Players can also break down the higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.
Leveling
Leveling is an option that lets you increase the effectiveness of armor and weapons. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials and pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade materials will be consumed and the item upgrader mod will gain an upgraded level. This process can be repeated until the maximum level for an item is reached.
Items with upgraded base stats will display a blue icon in their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments can't be added to more than one item upgrading at a time. Furthermore, each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be applied in addition to a minimum level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left, players can add items to be upgraded. On the right side, an image of the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow once is a player has enough resources will begin the upgrade process.
A piece of equipment may be upgraded up to five times. Every time the item is upgraded, its base stats will increase by a small percentage. The highest level for an item is 19.
Once an item reaches its maximum capacity that it can no longer have the option to upgrade. When an item is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Veteran or Explorer) upgrades for that track will have discounted prices.
Upgrade components are a type of equipment that is able to be inserted into armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and other trinkets to provide an extra effect or attribute bonus when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted or obtained through quests, or traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, but doing so will damage the previous upgrade, excluding for glyphs which can be removed and replaced freely.
Requirements
Item upgrades give players the ability to boost certain stats on armor and weapons that they currently own. The requirements for upgrading an item will vary based on the kind of item however, generally you'll require Dilithium as well as a few Upgrade Tokens (various options available).
The items can be upgraded by adding item upgrade components to weapons and equipment. These will provide additional effects or an increase in quality of the item. These upgrades can be gotten through a variety of sources in the game, including through crafting, bought at the Trading Post or karma vendors or looted from bosses or raids, or collected from dungeons. Once an upgrade element is added to an item, it cannot be removed and substituted without restriction, however the glyphs that are used in gathering tools can be swapped without limitation.
Upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity. Some upgrade components also have additional modifiers that can improve the stats of the item.
For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense and provides an additional 20% chance of blocking. Additionally the dps enhancement "Wildfire" increases weapon damage.
Certain items benefit from being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but for the fact that it allows players to gain the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item level upgrade. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly valued in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50 times the value of the unupp'd version.
When you select an upgrade component to be inserted into an item, the game will display an in-game window that lists the necessary requirements. The game will display the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
The game will place an item in your inventory when you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will then update to show you how far you are to completing the upgrade. You can also check the status of an upgrade by going to any item upgrader NPC.
