5 Common Myths About Robots That Vacuum And Mop You Should Avoid
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one time, without having to switch devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot vacuum cleaners reviews crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot hoover vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum cleaners best that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in numerous extra features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. The app lets you define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
