Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through many different methods such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their value.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item upgrader kit gathers to providing additional crafting materials.

Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced using various ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune. Many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you're in awe of it.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved with the glyph shards.

If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This can be helpful for those who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their equipment and weapons, and can be found in various ways like mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to increase damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades (secret info), but they can still be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button" you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will alter the design of the item's window and let up to six items to be chosen for recycling. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the rarity of the item and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective with Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.

The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items which would allow players to alter their builds without spending too much time and energy. The developers do not plan to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but will be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

It is important to remember that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a higher roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll can occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique item type, it has a chance of receiving an upper level.

Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level, though. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.

Based on the item upgrader mod's base level and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
