World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item upgrade, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item upgrade will be available at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game, you will often find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves an item, the base item will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
