Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it, and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the necessary element or material required to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph by another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes available will depend on the Item Upgrader Kit's kind. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will have lower chances of success.

Engineers may utilize a level to compare the height of the building against a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with the highest level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game, and it can increase an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrader kit. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added over the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the quality of the item upgrader's stats when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item upgrades's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their power. This will also boost the defense value of armor with a newer appearance.
