10 Things Everyone Has To Say About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good robot vacuum combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean around them without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot hoover touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best robot vacuum that mops options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand The X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many extra features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
