World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will increase after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Utilizing a Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item upgrade.

When the player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). The item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item upgrader kit can be very valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade item an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
