Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to buy a robot vacuum now is the time to get one. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its greatest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
The design is also more appealing than the other models. It features an elegant, top piece that appears like toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's automatic hoover robot Dirt removal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it around the floor robot. It even was able to take small gravel and sand which other robots couldn't do. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine if the update is actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot usually comes with a built-in tank for water which means they can vacuum and robot broom mop your house at the same time. These bots also have a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't come with some of the expensive features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's a great choice for those who are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuums can really fail. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or change the room's label.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto vacuum-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place emptying the bin can be accomplished without difficulty. It also features an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, but it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and functionality are some of the top available - but it's also pricey.
The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and ensures that your best robot hoover fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially in the area of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's not able climb stairs as well as some competitors, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.
While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price tag.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot broom vacuums that have the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard floors, as well as a mopping function at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is a little more modest than other models, and features a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The most important aspect that distinguishes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be empty as often and comes with the boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
