So You ve Bought Item Upgrade ... Now What
WoW Upgrades - The item Level upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will display a preview of an item upgrader's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item upgrader mod level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and several new features added. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items come from an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item upgrader mod reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
