One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with how dirty they are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have lot furniture. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.
