The Best Robot Hoover

The best automatic vacuum and mop robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to regularly examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair and large debris and wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you are at work or at school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competitors. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum reviews mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot vacuums best on which part of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you have a large furniture. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
