9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.
Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the item level. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item level.
On your PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are many theories about how the item level is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
It's not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat mods on weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.
The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times, at higher costs.
Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can provide the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats or reroll attaches. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. Like the base equipment, it will have to be done per item upgrader mod and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more beneficial in the early game as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) for a further +40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Furthermore there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. All items have a success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
