The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are positives.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large debris, and wash them when required. Some models can also automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They have motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or in school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuums uk vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best good robot vacuum vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it is worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you have a lot furniture. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It is a good robot vacuum vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
