The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large debris, and wash them when required. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. They also have carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be replaced with a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and an automatic vacuum cleaner bin for emptying. It's the best rated robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also provides access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
