However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an best automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's more expensive and create more noise.

It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it's worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
