1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you are at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.
You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a carpeted room to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It's the only robotic cleaner and mop mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas are.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum uk vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
