Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be done through many different methods, including the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.

There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and provide numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of either.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant or trading them with other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded by a prefix such as a rune or an insignia, and others can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They move to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in communicating a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also increase the recall of messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is the maximum value that the glyph can enhance a stat by, not the amount that it will actually increase the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the product you are enchanting it to.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item you must save it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered a loss.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards from that glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who take many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from many sources, including mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to provide better damage or perks.

Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade Item" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, which means higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.

A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players must be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase it to its final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it using money or food items, which allows players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for a stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for the stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item upgrader to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances when a greater or special roll may occur. The item upgrader type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a specific item type, then it is likely to receiving a higher level.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it offers. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the highest level on its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by +3.

Depending on the item's base level and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance an item that has been upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an exceptional one will have the chance to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
