And, if you need to change the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot vacuum for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuums best vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
