World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may become obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item upgrader requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage because it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This is a good idea however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade item (official source) items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item level upgrade may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
