Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available all over the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components needed for an item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia, or a rune, and many can be upgraded using an upgrade items suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph increases a stat's value by a certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and quality of the item you are admiring.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you do have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded Best item upgrade using the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply a glyph on your equipment to provide a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is useful for players who take a lot damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained in a variety of ways like mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give players a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the recycled items. This will change the design of the item's window and let up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade items an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on Diadems and rings, which have no alternatives to raise their ilvls.

The system of rerolls has been criticised by players as being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items which would allow players to alter their builds without a lot of time and effort. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of upgrading the stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which increases the damage or healing of an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item upgrades will keep its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded item type.

When upgrading items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times when a greater or special roll can occur. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific item type, then it's likely to gaining a higher level.

Upgrading items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading an item of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of upgrade levels. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next level.

If you're lucky your upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and gain a bonus effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking the effect of upgrading is increased by a value of +3.

Depending on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded Best item upgrade will change as well. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to a rare or exceptional item is likely to gain the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
