1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuum with mop vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum robot cleaner with mop vacuum for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the only robot vacuum uk vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
