They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or at school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the boxy models of the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however, it's more expensive and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the automatic vacuum cleaner's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dry the mop pads.
