World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of an item upgrader mod's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the item level. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

It's not the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an Best item upgrade determines the cost of upgrading. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by putting a name on them.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items, which can be used to add to the upgrade item gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. As with base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available at the store or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which success rates can be increased and the chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
