World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item upgrader kit to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus could be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. While this is usually an excellent thing but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to increase their performance. This can boost the defense base of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health you have, so it's important to upgrade item your armor as much as possible.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.

It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrader mod's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item upgrade. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio in a cauldron that is full drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't be replacing in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should take into account the class's preferred stats. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
