World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the item level. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item level.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates the value of the stats of an item really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This process could result in a calculated value for the item upgrader Kit's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl because the size of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade item the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is more useful in the early game, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased at the store or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the Luck of that item upgrader mod. Every item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The item upgrade item overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
