Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced budget robot vacuum to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot cleaner robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base automatic cleaning robot Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering around the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a tiny bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot accomplish this feat. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
While it's not quite as smart as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to know whether they're working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. These bots also have a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper robot vacuums fail. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses on walls and corners.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barrier and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or change the room's label.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is easy. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone however it can help you keep track of your robot's maintenance intervals effortlessly.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the top in the market however it's quite expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot fully charged and clean.
And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does an excellent job of removing dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as some competitors, either and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of carpets and hard floors, as well as a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock near an outlet for power and plenty of room for it to move, however.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto vacuum Cleaner Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The most important aspect that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.
The sleek G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and is more effective on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
