The 10 Most Terrifying Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item upgrades, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance the addition of a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several items.
Once an item has been leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes available for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will result in less chance of success.
Engineers utilize a level to measure the height of the building to a known point, like a benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important part of the game, and it can improve an item upgrade's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you create a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the stats of the item when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own many weapons or armor pieces already.

Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
