The Secret Secrets Of Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than the other options, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots that vacuum and mop. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach places. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect how fast the device will move through your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. However, it's important to note that it incurs regular expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum cleaner vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. These include an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it simple to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.
Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to shield specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was beginning or completing its task.
The biggest flaws were its simple app and the necessity to switch out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive best robot vacuum vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.
Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking Robot vacuums That mop thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
