Upgrades can sometimes increase the performance of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations used.

The most powerful racial Shield Razortail for instance, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption function in PvP and/or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the un-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens let you reroll a purchased item, such as an armor, weapon or ring. This replaces the item with an identical item and comes with different benefits. Reroll tokens are an affordable way to upgrade gear. However, they don't keep the same level as the original item and any resources wasted will not be refunded.

Reroll tokens can be obtained by survivors by a variety of means, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. Players can roll equipment with three aspects: physical power, spell power and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase damage from weapons and melee attack while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and the ring. Health upgrades give players additional health.

There are three kinds of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare, and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to a higher quality. To create them, you need a higher-quality reroll token. Upgrades with enhanced capabilities require a common item, rare upgrades require a unique or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
