Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must choose it and click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the Upgrade Item succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item level upgrade's kind. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will result in lower chances of success.

To determine the height of a building engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrader kit. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that boosts the power of the Best item upgrade by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chance of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different sizes, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Some set items are upgraded for their own unique functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The item upgrader mod's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
