WoW Upgrades - The Item level upgrade (emseyi.com) Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item upgrading, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if those items are from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade items for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
