Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the required component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from earlier versions. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up, but the required materials aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will allow the item upgrader to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's class. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item upgrades does not reach its max level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material but will result in a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with the highest level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game that can increase the damage, strength or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item level upgrade. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better your chance of getting a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different sizes, contain none of the elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the stats of the item upgrades when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs, which can be particularly beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the Best item upgrader as well as the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
