Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However it has a lower success rate.

To measure the height of a building engineers use a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point, like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to the highest degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game, and it can improve the strength, damage or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar Best item upgrade. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the better the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can have different sizes, have none at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They are also useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Set items can be upgraded to include special procs that are useful for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the Best item upgrade and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
