WoW Upgrades - The Item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item level upgrade upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will be less expensive, even when they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
