World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item upgrading gets upgraded, its base stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a widely used measurement of power and can be seen on all item tooltips. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). The average level of an item is listed on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it will be able to deal. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its level. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This can result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This isn't the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all sizes and shapes. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item upgrader mod (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it's a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another aspect that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in the early game than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any ability that deals damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects could be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
