WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrades used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be bought by players from Best item upgrader upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item upgrades level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item upgrade level, will cost less. This is even if the items are from another set of equipment.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
