World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrader kit upgrade (More about the author) lets players increase the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. In the case of items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their performance. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you can gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the corresponding fountain and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give an immediate effect. There are five different types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrading's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you take it out again or break the bottle within which it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For example splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant, such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

When the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that will not be replaced in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
