WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrader kit used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which will show an Best item upgrade's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current Item Level Upgrade level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less even if they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item upgrader kit reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
